I'm just wondering IF Boomerang Media will sign a great deal with a retrospective cartoon channel there in America. It's time that the new generations would know John and the 'Busters.

There has to be something the fans can do to bring Blackstar back. With the success of MOTU coming back surely Blackstar would be equally popular. Any ideas?

It would certainly be nice to see something done with Blackstar again - though the most likely scenario, IMO, would just be seeing it repeated again on a cartoon channel, rather than actual, newly produced Blackstar material (whether that be a new cartoon, new toys, whatever).

How about something in 3d? It makes for a strong story... of course there are other strong stories that have not been told, but JB could be a great sell.
It would take a lot of marketing, but I think it would be worth it...

I've only ever watched a couple of episodes from the MYP MotU series - it has it's fans, but I could never really get involved in it myself, unfortunately. Personally, I'd like to see a live action movie version of Blackstar (Hey, a man can dream right?)

In order for a new series to work nowadays, you would need to seriously reboot the concept and create an entire mythos before you even wrote the first script, because the original had no series bible.
Shows like Farscape and films like Avatar now make it impossible for one to do a straight version based entirely on the 80s cartoon. Too many similar elements.

Indeed, Zimraphel - I had quite a few Blackstar flashbacks while watching Avatar lol That said, I had quite a few Princess of Mars flashbacks while watching Blackstar...

I'm sure there are tons of capable writers out there that can FURTHER develop the superb world the 1981 cartoon just "hinted" at. Do not forget the cartoon managed to depict many interesting and fascinating aspects of Sagar in only 13 episodes anyway. It looks like a miracle to me...

As a big boy i dreamed a lot of things...For me i think it is necessary to see a new toyline series with better desing and more new characters on the way....
Secondly i want a good comic adaptation and to be honest is the only way today a lot of teen fanboys came closely in the original series.I mean that today cartoon industry works only for stuff like ben 13 a franchise today like Blackstar maybe can't find a big success.Don't see Thundercats or motu.
I think an 8-issue story arc with a Blackstar old fanboy as a writer and an excellent illustrator is a promise for that legend.Of course a lot of one-shot origin issues would be very helpfull.

This is the way to go. Make it more "Frazetta-like", as a sort of interdimensional Conan. That could work pretty well for an adult crowd in search of dark and sophisticated stories. I would not be interested in a new CGI cartoon with a 20 years/16 years old Blackstar and the surreal world of Sagar "technologized" just for the sake of the new generations.

Frazetta unfortunately has passed away...If you want more dark and sophisticated stories just check Tim Vigil in ''Cuda-An Age of Metal and Magic'' and his tribute in Frazetta's ''Dark Kingdom'
I think he is the most appropriate for a project like that.By the way can you imagine trobbits in a more mature comic adaptation or not?
Ah!George Perez is an excellent artist for a popular story arc too.One of my favourites.
As for a CGI cartoon i'm not interesting for something like that i like that way only in Toy Story or CARS...
