Thanks for the scan! I'm currently knocking around a fan fiction 'theory of everything' which connects the El Greco comic to the three Blackstar 'universes' - the filmation cartoon, the pif gadget comic and the edition lugs comic lol (I have way to much time on my hands )

That would be very intresting! We're certainly looking forward to reading it!! It could be some short of guide for the blackstar universe! Oh, and the ad says: "Masters of the universe-moonmen" "The ancient legend of transformation that came from the future!" ( ? Go figure...) "Instantly they change their faces and become frightening!" Then it says their names and describes their features: Brainor-the brain Iron Lion-the iron lion Robash-the invincible robot War Dog- The kerveros dog of war (As I 've mentioned before kerveros is a greek mythical monster, specificaly a giant dog with three heads that guarded the gates of Hades and was beaten by Hercules. So it makes no sense why they named triton keveros, but they use the name here again! I don't think I follow...) Tuskus: The lame one (!!!!) Sphinx-The sphinx Torto-The oceanian (!!!) Tempo-The elephant (!!!) I guess they messed things up a little again... And lastly it says "The new exciting line of the masters of the universe"

'The lame one' - wow, with marketing like that I bet he just flew off the shelves lol
Torto being 'the oceanian' is consistent with his status in the English version, where he was described as an 'armored beast menacing the dark briny deep.'
Despite being a chicken.
...
War Dog at least turns into a dog, and he has two heads (sort of) so it works better than on Triton, I suppose...

Thanks fot clearing things up, I don't know much, 'cause I never really liked the line, and so never cared too much. In fact I never owned a moonman, I totally ignored the line, and focused on collecting the main line (I mean the greek blackstar version).
The lame one-yeah, stupid characterisation anyway
So Torto is an oceanian chicken, huh? Not my fault that I don't like this line, ha,ha...
What about this elephant? Is it accurate? Is it consistent with the english/american version?
I remember that it was the tv ads that kind of shorted out that the heroic moonmen joined with Atlas's team and the others with Scorpio, encouraging the kids to mix them with the main line. I have to say the tv ads were impressive, presenting all these epic battles that you could do with your figures...

They seem to match up fairly well with what the english line had... here is a picture which has all the 'job descriptions' of the characters: Tuskus is 'the lame one' I'm guessing because it's a very non-politically correct way of describing his having a cyborg leg? (speaking of Tuskus, a pity he has that cyborg leg because if he had two thigh-high pvc boots his legs could be swapped onto a Kadray for a more show-accurate design!) As for Torto... maybe he is actually meant to be a sea monster of some kind? He certainly looks like a mad rooster, but with the whole 'briny deep' thing... I have never owned or even seen an Infaceable in real life - if I ever do get interested in trying to collect any of them, I think Torto and Tembo would be the two I'd try to get - they look the most interesting, IMO - the others all look either kind of 'meh' or else a bit to 'leather fetish'

Woo, thanks for all the info man! Well, they look a little odd to me and as I've said before I never thought they belonged in the blackstar universe. I've seen them as a kid and these rubber faces of theirs didn't last long... Still, I'd be intrested to see a comic adaptation of this line and what short of story would have connected them with blackstar.

Have you ever seen his post about the white ship? I have to agree with him that the boxart is fantastic! It certainly is far more dramatic than the greek packaging artwork.

Yes, I would agree with that as well - the Blackstar vehicles and Ice Castle has some great packaging artwork.
I mentioned before that I had a fan fiction theory involving the Greek 'masters of the universe' storyline and it's connection to the Blackstar universe - well, instead of the El Greco storyline being an alternate universe, what if... it is actually the past of Sagar?! Overlord is the same character, a former hero who succumbed to evil because he came to believe that there was only one person who could be trusted with the power to be 'master of the universe' - himself! Leon is a member of Klone's race, Neptul is an heroic ancestor of the current Neptul, Scorpio is an ancestor of Kadray, Tongo and his demons could be trapped in limbo until they're released by Overlord nearer to the present to serve him, the Silvermen could possibly be android creations of the original Trobbit space travellers (from the Golden Conch story) installed as custodians of the Castle of Power... which becomes the Ice Castle after Overlord takes over and the once fertile land of Tamboryon becomes a frozen wasteland...

Holy sh... man!!! This is a hell of a story!! It's the greatest blackstar fan fiction, I've ever heard in a long time! And it combines all versions perfectly! You should really start taking it seriously, I mean it's a great idea, dude, it shouldn't be wasted.

The way I currently see it;
The Ancient Ones rise to power on Sagar. They are technologically, spiritually and mystically advanced and create many powerful objects and devices including the Powerstar and the Diamond of Power. These two objects in particular would give anyone who wields them immense power, power to be 'master of the universe'.
The Ancient Ones undertsand the dangers of any one person, no matter how noble their original intentions, having such power and so place the Diamond of Power in a special vault deep inside the Castle of Power which can only be opened by the Powerstar. As a further security measure, the Powerstar is split into two halves - the Starsword and the Powersword and are given to two powerful and heroic warriors to wield.
The original Trobbit settlers migrate to Sagar. They are masters of metals and possibly assist in the creation of the Castle of Power. In any event, they place android servants made in their image as custodians of the Castle, the Silvermen.
Atlas and Overlord may not have been the first two heroes chosen to guard the Starsword and the Powersword, instead they are probably just the latest (and last) in a line of heroes by the time of the El Greco comic. In any event, they are joined by other heroes in their duty to protect the Castle of Power - Neptul and Leon. They guard the castle against many threats, including Scorpio, Tongo, Zoar and Gargo.
Tongo and his demons are sent to limbo during one such attempt to steal the Diamond of Power.
One (?) of Sagar's moons is destroyed and many warriors migrate to Sagar.
Eventually, Overlord begins to wonder why they spend all their time guarding the Diamond from falling into evil hands, when instead they could be doing so much more good with it themselves. Overlord becomes convinced that only he is wise and powerful enough to rule Sagar and begins to secretly plot against his friends to obtain the Diamond of Power for himself, so that he may become 'master of the universe' - for the greater good, of course...
He tricks Atlas into joining the Powersword with his Starsword so that he can enter the vault and take control of the Diamond of Power.
Following this, a massive war would break out across Sagar as the forces of good battle the forces of the Overlord. The once verdant plains of Tamboryon become a frozen wasteland and the Castle of Power becomes an Ice Castle. The once great city of Antika falls into ruin. The forces of good seek to hide the secrets of the Ancient Ones away in a hidden city they name Tamboryon after the once great country now turned to ice. Despite all his efforts, Overlord does not find out the location of this city (at least not until much later)...
In a desperate play against the Overlord, the forces of good (perhaps Atlas teamed up with a young enchantress named Mara?) manage to split the Diamond of Power into two halves - these halves becoming the Moon Stone and the Black Star and being scattered across Sagar. Whether by accident or design, the Star Sword is also lost in time and space...
...Where it eventually is rematerialised on Earth in a Cyclotron experiment. Human scientists think it is there own creation and use it to power an experimental spaceship.
John Blackstar, astronaut, is swept through a black hole into an ancient, alien universe. There he crashes on the planet Sagar where he is rescued by the tiny Trobbit people.
Overlord witnesses this new arrival on Sagar and sends out Tongo and his pack of demons (freed from Limbo) to investigate. Overlord is well aware of space travel and still has the ultimate goal to extend his reach further than Sagar.
Blackstar helps the Trobbits against Tongo and retrieves his 'Ionic Sword' from the wreckage of his spaceship.
Blackstar meets Klone and Mara, and also gains Warlock as his faithful dragon-steed.
An infuriated Overlord leads a group of his most poweful henchmen against the Trobbits as a way of striking at Blackstar. Balkar leads his people down into the safety of the Blue Cave. For their own protection, the majority of the Trobbit people remain in the caves while 7 Trobbits remain above ground to aide Blackstar and act as custodians of the Sagar Tree.
Blackstar is established as the leader of the resistance against Overlord.

FANTASTIC!!! The approach of Overlord's seduction by power and his turn to evil is fascinating, I don't care if it's darthvader style!! This kind of stuff was always to my liking, and makes the story more dramatic! Maybe there's room for some romantic subplot, I mean Mara is an ancient one, falls in love with Atlas who dies by Overlord's hand, and then Mara meets blackstar, whose resemblance to Atlas is remarkable and reminds her of Atlas! Thus, the greek story gets finally the woman protagonist that was so much missing!! This reference to the destruction of the moon... Does it have to do with the infaceables? Not bad, my friend, not bad... They were called the infaceables in their homeworld but when they came to Sagar, Atlas and his friends called them moonmen.

Yep you got it - the moon destruction is a reference to the Infaceables - since they had a definite relationship to the 'Blackstar' characters in the El Greco line, it seemed the best place to put them in - plus it means they wouldn't have to appear in the 'present' of Blackstar Glad you like the idea! I think there's real potential - it adds some interesting history to the Blackstar universe, and yes, it is a bit 'Darth Vader' having Overlord be a fallen hero, but like you said, it adds some drama. Mara/Atlas romance was something I was thinking as well

Very good my friend, very good. You're gonna make me start liking the infaceables line after all... Yes, it will be like preternia to the motu, only better!! I really loved the idea about splitting the diamond of power into the two cosmic artifacts!
