Yes why not?The present show us that almost all the fantasy franchises have a huge success and unlimited impact in the audience. And here we talk about a big hit back in the '80s...ok guys George Lucas is here what are we talking now?And don't forget that today the CGI technology helps very much in the atmosphere of that genre.I said yes.

Well, they've got to be careful. This cgi thing can be annoying. They must not exaggerate. I read that warwick davis is always interested for a sequel, and that he had a talk with Lucas about that once. Of course there are the books, but they were not very well accepted by the fans. We need a fresh script.

There were actually a few novel sequels to Willow! I haven't read them, despite my love of the movie (or maybe because of it lol) - They're called the chronicles of the shadow war and were written by long term X-Men scribe Chris Claremont!
Hmmmm I really should try and track them down and add them to my reading list...

These are the books that I'm refering to!!! In these novels Madmartigan and Sorsha die!!! And the fans didn't take it so well... I heard that the books were a commercial failure. Well that doesn't mean that they're not good. Still, this idea of madmartigan's and sorsha's death annoys me a bit...

Lol did you ever read them? I saw them years ago but never realized they were Willow related so never read them - then when I did find out I think I felt like maybe it was best not to know what they were like, just in case they weren't any good

No, I've never read them. Same thing happened to me, I didn't want to read them in case I get disappointed. I just found comments in forums about these novels by fans. It's from them that I found about what the books are about. Well, a lot of them hate them, the rest love them!!! You know the fans... Myself, I would love to see a Val Kilmer comeback as madmartigan!!! And Joanne Whaley is still a beauty. Now, get bavmorda back from the dead to get her revenge, show us what willow has become, get a good young actress to play Elora's part and here we go!!!

Wow, man I never knew there was going to be a willow cartoon!!! Thanks for this great piece of information my friend!!! And yes, I think a lot will happen with disney buying lucasfilm. I read their priority now is starwars. But given the popularity among the fans, I think willow is very likely to happen!!!

Well I'm sure if Disney thought they could get some money out of it...

Yes my thoughts exactly. But then willow was never a big hit. I hope they'll give it a second chance, just because they expect some profit from it. I mean I don't care as long as they do the movie.

I think Willow has a certain cult appeal - it probably depends on how aggressively Disney wants to market the Lucasfilm properties - I could see perhaps a Willow comic as an attemp to gauge interest...

There has been a Willow comic before. To be precise, it's a marvel graphic novel about the movie. It' great, I 've got it in digital form if you're intrested.
