Hello all ! I'd like to know if someone here likes Fire & Ice film ? This film was directed by Ralph Bakshi (Lord of the Rings animated movie) and produced by Ralph and Frank Frazetta (Conan). The animated feature, based on characters Bakshi and Frazetta co-created, was made using the process of rotoscoping, in which scenes were shot in live action and then traced onto animation cels. In 2010, Robert Rodriguez announced that he would direct a live-action remake of the film. Bakshi stated that he didn't want any involvement with the film, but he agreed to license the rights to Rodriguez. The deal closed shortly after Frazetta's death. In my opinion, it's an underrated gem...

Well my friend, you got yourself another loyal fan of fire and ice, ha,ha!!!
Actually I love other works of Bakshi too, and especially The Lord Of the Rings.
But Fire and Ice is one of my all time favourites! This is a must have for the sword and sorcery fan.
Now, I've never heard anything about a remake, thanks for that piece of information! I wish this project would go on... I'd love to see a remake of this legendary movie!

CoiniliusI am sure you will not repent, my friend ! Bakshi has a fictive trilogy: Wizards, LOTR and Fire & IceAll three were themed in barbarian and fantasy worlds... Just watch on 'youtube' the very first 5-10 minutes of LOTR; you will see from where Peter Jackson got his inspirations... Fire & Ice is underrated for a lot of reasons, but it's so cult that took attention of a great director like Robert Rodriguez !

Fire and Ice is a great and underrated film.I need to re-watched this one.
As for a live action movie my feelings are mixed.I hope to see a good film not something like the last Conan crap.

My feelings are much more mixed for a MOTU live-action than Fire & Ice... Anyway, it seens Robert Rodriguez will shot his film as a graphic novel, like Sin City... Let's wait...

For those who love the work of Frank Frazetta, do you know there was a company that created its action figurres based in Frazetta concepts ? Indeed, the figures were one of the plentiful MOTUC KO toy lines released in 80's. Please, take a look in this wonderful review of a wonderful blog: galaxywarriorsbysungold.blogspot.de/p/artwork.html

Yes, Galaxy warriors are really great!! This a cult classic toyline!
As for the movie, I really have faith in Rodriguez. He's gonna do it properly, I have no worries. Everything he has done so far is great and the fact that he is a huge fire and ice fan is important.
Hey coinilius did you watch the movie?

There was some controversy when LotR's came out about Peter Jackson not acknowledging the influence of the Bakshi version.
I watched the first 20 mins or so of Fire and Ice so far - it's a very beautiful looking movie, the art design is incredible.
Galaxy Warriors - never actually made the connection that so much of it was based on (ripped off) Frazetta artwork, beyond the art on the packaging.

I just wanted to add as well - thanks for linking to that blog devoted to the Galaxy Warriors blog - it's interesting to see them get so much attention, and despite the fact that as a Big fan of MotU inspired toylines and knock offs, there are still interesting new facts about the line I hadn't encountered or considered before, like the extent of the Frazetta connection.
