They are outstandig action figures but never made it on the TV series( save for a little cameo of our vampire fellow as one of the zombiefied guys in a zombie-themed episode, and in the end he was freed from zombification and smiled!). Lets do some speculations about them, who they are, o who they could have be, what power, history, behavior they could, or they should have.... So?

i see tongo as a savage warrior. seems like a hunter tracker. a beast of the jungles who preys on trophies of choice, or rather of challenge. gargo is a vampiric gargoyle who seems like you'd have to stumble onto his territory/into his domain to sample his power. i always assumed him to magical and that his knife was the only way to defeat him. and by assume i mean how i played with him

Tongo like a good guy (sort of), Gargo as an ambiguous, individualist, two timer character! Maybe, some (great) antagonism running between Blackstar and Tongo... I like the idea Tongo wants the Starsword because he believes to be a better choice as bearer. Gargo is like Clint Eastwood's character in the Dollar trilogy. Self-centered, arrogant and with no faction/flag to pledge allegiance to. In the end, John kicks his a**, and that's pretty much the last time we hear of him, LOL. ;D

The Vampire Men also appeared in the Air Whales episode. Tongo the Leopard Man was actually supposed to appear in that episode too as Nihilus' first mate but instead we ended up with the wood golem looking guy.

The most confusing one for me is Muto the Wasp Man and his working handcuffs! Anyone know if he was supposed to appear in an episode and was left out because of budget constraints like Tongo was?
And who is the White Knight...?

The White Knight was glimpsed briefly in the first episode.

The White Knight was glimpsed briefly in the first episode. Really! I'll have to watch it again more closely. Where does he make his appearance?

Oh, he's with the Vizier and the other lackies of the Overlord's court in the scene where the Overlord gets bombastic and starts boasting about his plans to get the Starsword. You know, as villains do.

I remember looking out for the White Knight in that episode but missing him - will have to watch it again now! I started work on a couple of fan-fictions ages ago (which I've never gotten around to finishing, mainly because I started them as fan-comics, but don't never have the time to start drawing them) which included Tongo and the White Knight. Tongo and the Leopard Men I just used as fairly random villians at the start of a story to get the ball rolling (Tongo shoots Klone with a poison dart) - I envisioned them as a pack of savage hunters. As for the White Knight, I imagined him as a powerful weapon created in Sagar's distant past, then trapped in ice and sent into space where he is eventually summoned back from by the Overlord. A magical automation of immense power. The story itself was mostly just an excuse for lots of arial jousts between Blackstar and the White Knight Never really thought much on the Gargo issue, as the Vampire Men made an appearance on the show. And I've considered a couple of ideas for Meuton the Wasp Man, but never settled on anything. Though those hand cuffs would have to come into play some how...

Said that... did they really produce these action figures?

Here is a list of Blackstar action figures as far as I've heard of. All figures were released in both the original wave as well as the second, Laser Light series unless noted otherwise.
Blackstar- with glow-in-the-dark Starsword Mara- with glow-in-the-dark aura and power beam (only available in the original series) Klone- can be transformed into a Cloud Cat (only available in the Laser Light series) The Overlord- with glow-in-the-dark Powersword Vizier- with glow-in-the-dark power staff Kadray- with glow-in-the-dark laser bazooka (! I know... bizarre) Neptul- with glow-in-the-dark trident Gargo the Vampire Man- with glow-in-the-dark vampire staff Tongo the Leopard Man- with glow-in-the-dark sniper spear & weapons pack Palace Guard- with glow-in-the-dark ice weapon Meuton the Wasp Man- with working handcuffs (woops! I thought his name was Muto. Sorry about that! I was close...) Lava Loc- with glow-in-the-dark club White Knight- with lance & shield
Warlock (comes with either green or yellow wings) with glow-in-the-dark teeth Triton (Kadray's flying bull)
Balkar, Carpo, Gossamear, Poulo, Rif, Terra (but no Burble as far as I know)- one was packaged randomly with each good guy and you got 2 with the Wind Machine. They were also sold separately, individually carded and as a 4-pack. Alien Demons (in a number of different colours) one was packaged randomly with each bad guy.
"Trobbit Wind Machine" (their windship) includes 2 Trobbits Spaceship- with rocket launchers (John Blackstar's spaceship) Battle Wagon- 4 wheel drive attack tank with flashing lights, firing missile, and six working hatches (never appeared in the show) Ice Castle playset- with working gun tower
Did they actually make a Sagar (aka "Zagar") Tree playset? I saw the pictures in the Fan section. That is SO cool.
I've also seen references to a "Devil Knight" as part of the series but have never seen a picture. Has anyone?

They never made a Zagar Tree (as they would have called it lol) - that very nice custom by Galaxy Warrior was made from a Fisher Price Robin Hood playset of some kind I believe.
