What are your thoughts about the live action movie directed by Jon Chu? I would prefere a new animated/cartoon show before the live action movie... I don't imagine an oriental direction in a barbaric concept film...that's why I don't like MOTU 200X design and that's why I am fear about that movie.

Yeah, I don't like the 200x animating style either, and I never liked its approach. The story was altered in a way I don't approve at all. This king grayskull story is full of sh...t. I prefer the vintage preternia concept. And I don't like the new motuc bios. Did you get the chance to read the dark horse POG comics? Total crap.
Anyway, I'm in for a new live action movie no matter what! I think people like me just need this movie... I say we give it a chance.
I really liked the sdcc exclusive two pack! The rock people along with the evil horde are my favourite motu concepts! Now, if only mattel would release a 3 pack including granita! And I desperately want a vintage granita too by lulu berlu, ha,ha!

I am pretty sure Granita will be released soon, maybe in the end of this year... Mattel announced 3 evil figures in Filmation subscription. So, I think 2 or 3 heroic warriors will come next... Sea Hawk is a great choice because the pirate sword we saw months ago...I am sure Granita will be one of them, after Rokkon and Stonedar 2-pack.

Do you collect the motuc figures?
I know you're a vintage fan and so am I. I don't collect the motuc figures, I only got he-man motuc. But I'm really glad that mattel ressurected the line, and I think the 4h did an incredible job.
So, what about your vintage collection? Would you ever be interested in the Eternia playset?

I've been collecting MOTUC since the begining, in SDCC '08. I have every MOTUC figure released... I am a huge MOTU and Star Wars fan... Unfortunately I don't have Eternia playset yet. On the other hand, I have the giants (MIB) and laser (MOC)figures.

Like in many other countries around the world, vintage MOTU toyline was a big hit here in Brazil...
But, before ESTRELA (brazilian main toy company) release the official MOTU figures, a small model company released a few MOTU characters in resin and lead.
That company had been releasing Star Wars figures before and started to invest in MOTU fever in 1985.
Among the MOTU figures, there was a new character created by that company... So, I can say, there is an unofficial brazilian character in MOTU mythology...
That collection is so rare nowadays and almost all figures are in USA and Europe.... This new characters is the rarest of all, since there are only two survived known right now... and both are complete !!!

Wow, man, I didn't know you had the giants! Mib too! That's awesome, man!
May I ask how much they cost when you bought them? Because the prices are extremely high... There's no chance for me to buy them from ebay, with these prices. So, I'm searching in flea markets and old toy stores here in Greece. There's a good chance I find them much cheaper. If I ever find them of course, ha,ha! As I have said before the powers of grayskull line is something like a holy grail to me.
As for the laser figures... I must confess I hate them, ha,ha! Strange that you like the laser he-man figures and not the blackstar laser lights, lol!!!
About those motu figures released by that brazilian company... I'm very interested to know about them. Who are they? Got them? Got any pics of them?

Yes, I have the real giants....the new ones are dwarfs next to the italian figures... ;D I purchased both six years ago...I think it was $1.850,00 for both figures. You could try to purchase in greek old toy stories or in italian Market, since Greece and Italy are very near countries. I like all vintage He-Man and Skeletor variants....the Laser figures are terrific, since both characters are very diferente of the other. Infact, there is a theory that LP He-Man is Dolph Lundgren and LL Skeletor, Frank Langella. I can not see any relation between MOTU laser figures and Blackstar 2° wave. MOTU figures are true variants, in my opinion... Well, in 70's and early 80's, Brazil was a closed country, a military dictatorial government, and foreign products were not so easy to find. So, Star Wars, GI Joe, MOTU, Transformers, were very expensive because they had heavy fee duties... In 1985 a brazilian model company named Model Trem released a MOTU collection. The figures were bootlegs and made of resin and lead. They released a Star Wars collection in 1982 and earned much money ! Then, MOTU was an obvious choice. Only 9 figures were released, incluing a new character named Prince Izor. Take a look: i1235.photobucket.com/albums/ff421/MOTUAwareness/modeltrem2.jpg [/img] Since the figures were very fragile, a few survived and that's why they are almost impossible to find nowadays, specially complete and in all pieces...

Thanks for this great piece of information my friend! I never knew about these bootlegs. That man-at-arms actually has a moustache! Wow! I guess Prince Izor is the one on the far left. Nice figure.
Yes, the vintage giants are real giants next to the new ones, ha,ha!
Well, yeah, I've heard about that theory and I also think that the he-man laser figure actually has Lundgren's face. The thing I don't like about these figures is that they had a new approach, much closer to the new adventures, which I never liked.

I think there is a small relation of those two figures with the new adventures to the point that they were used as a "bridge" to the new cartoon. They may have been released in 1988, but mattel had already plans for the new adventures, so they made these figures. There are a lot of similarities, the most notable of all being he-man's sword.
Mattel dropped the plans for a preternia concept and moved on to a new more sci-fi approach, thus abandoning the wonderful magical world of etenia where sword and sorcery were basic elements. And that's a shame. I don't believe mattel chose this crap instead of the preternia concept...
That's a nice picture of prince izor. What was the concept behind that figure? Was he prince Adam's evil brother?

I think your logical deduction is very well but, after the Power & Honor Foundation book, we can realize the laser figures are much more '87 live action concepts than New Adventures ones. Infact, as I said, there is no relation between Laser figures and NA.
Well, I accept New Adventures and Powers of Grayskull concepts, but never love them. In my opinion, MOTU saga should go on in Eternia and Etheria.
No, there is no concept behind Prince Izor. He was in the mind of some Model Trem artist. I can say I like the figure because I remember him...for almost 25 years I've been claimig its existence...much fans didn't believe in me. When the first one popped up on eBay, I recognized him !!! It's incredible his arms, legs, chest, head and weapon, are not retooling of the other figures. So, he is unique !!!

Yes that's a unique character, and, honestly man, I prefer him than the laser variants ha,ha!
Did you see Karg's cardback? There are skeletor and he-man movie variants coming up! Now, these are the figures I must have at all cost! Plus Karg!
Is there a second Power and honor volume coming up? I must have that too! The first one was really great!
