Re-posting this here from the Infaceables thread so that it isn't as buried and is easier to refer back to so that I/we can do some more with the ideas
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Ancient Ones rise to power on Sagar. They are technologically, spiritually and mystically advanced and create many powerful objects and devices including the Powerstar and the Diamond of Power. These two objects in particular would give anyone who wields them immense power, power to be 'master of the universe'.
The Ancient Ones undertsand the dangers of any one person, no matter how noble their original intentions, having such power and so place the Diamond of Power in a special vault deep inside the Castle of Power which can only be opened by the Powerstar. As a further security measure, the Powerstar is split into two halves - the Starsword and the Powersword and are given to two powerful and heroic warriors to wield.
The original Trobbit settlers migrate to Sagar. They are masters of metals and possibly assist in the creation of the Castle of Power. In any event, they place android servants made in their image as custodians of the Castle, the Silvermen.
Atlas and Overlord may not have been the first two heroes chosen to guard the Starsword and the Powersword, instead they are probably just the latest (and last) in a line of heroes by the time of the El Greco comic. In any event, they are joined by other heroes in their duty to protect the Castle of Power - Neptul and Leon. They guard the castle against many threats, including Scorpio, Tongo, Zoar and Gargo.
Tongo and his demons are sent to limbo during one such attempt to steal the Diamond of Power.
One (?) of Sagar's moons is destroyed and many warriors migrate to Sagar.
Eventually, Overlord begins to wonder why they spend all their time guarding the Diamond from falling into evil hands, when instead they could be doing so much more good with it themselves. Overlord becomes convinced that only he is wise and powerful enough to rule Sagar and begins to secretly plot against his friends to obtain the Diamond of Power for himself, so that he may become 'master of the universe' - for the greater good, of course...
He tricks Atlas into joining the Powersword with his Starsword so that he can enter the vault and take control of the Diamond of Power.
Following this, a massive war would break out across Sagar as the forces of good battle the forces of the Overlord. The once verdant plains of Tamboryon become a frozen wasteland and the Castle of Power becomes an Ice Castle. The once great city of Antika falls into ruin. The forces of good seek to hide the secrets of the Ancient Ones away in a hidden city they name Tamboryon after the once great country now turned to ice. Despite all his efforts, Overlord does not find out the location of this city (at least not until much later)...
In a desperate play against the Overlord, the forces of good (perhaps Atlas teamed up with a young enchantress named Mara?) manage to split the Diamond of Power into two halves - these halves becoming the Moon Stone and the Black Star and being scattered across Sagar. Whether by accident or design, the Star Sword is also lost in time and space...
...Where it eventually is rematerialised on Earth in a Cyclotron experiment. Human scientists think it is there own creation and use it to power an experimental spaceship.
John Blackstar, astronaut, is swept through a black hole into an ancient, alien universe. There he crashes on the planet Sagar where he is rescued by the tiny Trobbit people.
Overlord witnesses this new arrival on Sagar and sends out Tongo and his pack of demons (freed from Limbo) to investigate. Overlord is well aware of space travel and still has the ultimate goal to extend his reach further than Sagar.
Blackstar helps the Trobbits against Tongo and retrieves his 'Ionic Sword' from the wreckage of his spaceship.
Blackstar meets Klone and Mara, and also gains Warlock as his faithful dragon-steed.
An infuriated Overlord leads a group of his most powerful henchmen against the Trobbits as a way of striking at Blackstar. Balkar leads his people down into the safety of the Blue Cave. For their own protection, the majority of the Trobbit people remain in the caves while 7 Trobbits remain above ground to aide Blackstar and act as custodians of the Sagar Tree.
Blackstar is established as the leader of the resistance against Overlord.
