Well, if you watch Air Whales of Anchar with your eyes closed, it pretty much sounds like he's fighting Skeletor Skeletor and Hordak are definately top choices, IMO, given the crossover potential of Blackstar with MotU/PoP.

I enjoyed Blackstar's "cameo appearance" in the original Masters of the Universe series (in the form of a golden statue), and always thought it would have been cool to see a crossover of the two programs. John Blackstar & He-Man versus the Overlord & Skeletor could have made an amazing story (maybe a 2- or 3-part story arc).
Oh well...

I think a lot of Blackstar fans would agree with you on that one, Validus

Validus,
Weird. Maybe He-Man will travel in the past through a time portal and meet Blackstar! Given the fact they live... in two different universes?
I always suspected Zodak brought the statue from the parallel universe where Sagar is located.

Given the fact they live... in two different universes?I always suspected Zodak brought the statue from the parallel universe where Sagar is located. Hm... my interpretation has always been that they live in the same universe. After all, John Blackstar is from Earth, as is He-Man's mother. Blackstar and Queen Marlena are both human astronauts... they could even be colleagues, for all we know, though it seems more likely that Blackstar was her predecessor. Having traveled through wormholes, though, it's anybody's guess as to what changes in space-time might have occurred before they each arrived at their respective destinations. As you've suggested--and as the presence of the statue seems to suggest--it would appear that Blackstar lived in an era prior to that of He-Man. Obviously, this is all just the speculation of a fan. We all know that the creators of these shows didn't think through these sorts of continuity issues. They were just having fun.

Well, I think what Titian was getting at was that Sagar is said to be in an 'ancient, alien universe', implying that it is in a different universe to the one Earth is in.

Good point... I'd completely forgotten about that line. I guess if we were to get into quantum mechanics with this discussion, there could literally be an infinite number of possibilities! Still, it makes sense to me that he and Marlena probably, at least, originated from the same universe, even if they wound up in different planes of existence. Worm holes are such a handy plot device, aren't they? To get back to the original topic of the thread then, "What villain could Blackstar fight?" Whichever one's in the greatest need of a beatin', I guess!

It seems to me that Eternia is located in a far place of our universe, given the fact Marlena didn't cross any dimensional barrier (according to the flashback scene), while Sagar has been established as part of an alien, alternative universe.
That means that Sagar features a whole new set of physic rules, and its biological life has a different origin.
