does the blackstar series have panoramic views similar to the classic he-man?

In creating He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, I believe many of the background stock images from Blackstar were recycled.

..wow. thanks for getting back to me on that. i've never seen blackstar, but i'll be getting it later this week. for the last several weeks i've been watching the classic he-man (now on ep97) and i've been taking a ton of screen captures, putting them together, made webpages, etc. to index all of them. ..and now i'm thinking i'll be making one for blackstar too. i've found so little information online about it besides wikipedia and a handful of thrown-together sites. i'm kind of excited about seeing the series.

No problem, friend. If you can handle the requisite campiness of Filmation's 80s action toons, I think you'll love Blackstar. It's a truly sweeping tale in the greatest tradition of Sword & Planet fiction. In the character of John Blackstar, a wonderful hero was created, but set aside all too soon.
Would you mind posting a link to your He-Man site (and to your upcoming Blackstar site, should it become a reality)? You're right in stating that there is a serious dearth of Blackstar information available on the web.

>..but set aside too soon. it's nice to hear someone talking good of it. i was wondering why there were only 13 eps and not many visible online fans. hopefully i'll enjoy it as much as you. my blackstar adventure begins tomorrow afternoon. i'm hype! i'm sure i'll want to talk about it while i'm watching it, so i'll likely be back soon. >Would you mind posting a link.. delstar.org/heman/i may not have been clear in my previous post, but that site is a collection of all of the panoramic views in the classic he-man. on the bonus page there's a collection of avatars, and there's also a wind raider flight log that i've been keeping. i'll be making a pop one after this. and i've never seen the 'new adventures' or the '200x' series, but if they have panoramas i'll build those too.

i've watched the first episode and it was *really* enjoyable! there was one part with the trobbits i didn't care for, but i can take that in stride. overlord is awesome. he may end up being my favorite character.
i've started collecting blackstar information and images from the net wherever i can find it and i'm glad to see that they put credits at the end of the shows. so, here it goes; i'll be creating *the* Blackstar Encyclopedia. i've already started making the page templates.
if you don't mind, i'm wondering what sort of things (besides the basics) i should be looking for to note down while i watch each episode?. are there any repetitious or unique 'things' that are in each ep, or anything that you would like to see a list of? and you know, i'd be happy to hear *any* advise you have on the creation of a complete codex.

Wow... this is the most action this message board has had in a long time! I enjoyed looking at your He-Man panorama collection. Very impressive! However, every image that I clicked on for a larger version only brought me to a "404 not found" page. I'm glad you liked your first episode of Blackstar. Yes, the Trobbit sequences can get pretty silly... some might even say "annoying"... but you have to take the good with the bad, I guess. I agree that the character of Overlord is an awesome one, and worthy of mention as one of the truly great 80s cartoon villains. As far as things to look for, I imagine you'll notice a certain amount of backgrounds and animations being re-used from episode to episode. Just off the top of my head, I'd say there are some great shots of John Blackstar riding Warlock that would be worth capturing. Also images of the Sagar Tree. Other than that, I'd really have to give it some more thought. I'm excited to see what you come up with in the way of a Blackstar Encyclopedia and eager to assist in any way that I can.

the 404's'll be happening until i hear back from Entertainment Rights about legalities. the orig files are about 6000 pixels wide. it's a lot of work to un-code those links when i'll have to add it all back 'if' they say okay. here's what i have so far for an episode page: delstar.org/blackstar/temp_01.htm though incomplete, it'll communicate what i'm thinking. there will be a page for each character and every mention of their name will link to it, etc. the site-navigation will be easy. in the 'credits' section i'm listing the credits that appear after each show. do those change or are they always the same? if they're always the same then i should move them to their own page instead of listing them on each episode page.

i've updated that page since my last post. what content would push the site over the top and make it earn the title of 'encyclopedia'? i've only had two big-ish ideas. 1, create a detailed & complete 'blackstar' map. 2, once the core content of the site is complete i could try to contact *everyone* involved for brief interviews. i think that in-depth background information would be the best thing the site could provide. what do you think? i was also pushing around the idea of having an overall rating for each episode.. oh, further thinking on the 'credits' section: even if it's the same on every episode, each one of those people deserve to have their names there as much as anyone else on the page. on that map idea, have you seen a blackstar map anywhere? i've not been able to find one, but i could draw something up based on the data i'll be gathering from each show. here's a map that was recently posted on he-man.org: www.marlbanktavern.com/map/ i'm thinking of making something similar for blackstar. i think full color and a more lively feel would be fitting. hey, if email's easier for you we can switch to that.

VERY big news, Zero, thanks for caring & posting at the same time. Well, it has been previously ESTABILISHED that Filmation based Eternia on Sagar. Entirely, I would say. It seems like they are the SAME planet going by two distinct names. As far your Blackstar Encyclopedia is concerned, I totally dig it. I'm going to heavily promote your project THROUGH this forum and many other channels. Just be careful about Blackstar's powers, we covered such an unclear issue on many separated threads.

thanks for that. what do you think about a link to this board at the top? i've updated a few things and it's now at this address for good: delstar.org/blackstar/ i'm having trouble with names and spellings, but i'm filling in what i can for now. i'll iron out the edges once i get further into it. have a look when you get a chance and let me know what you think.

i've updated it again. i did the first three pans just to see how it's going to look. i think i've settled on the layout for the episode pages. any edits you could suggest would be great. the things in red are what i don't know, and the yellow text will be links to character/location pages. i think that i'm going to make all of the episode pages first. then i can take the data from those to make all the other pages, except 'toys'. i found the 'Virtual Toy Chest' www.virtualtoychest.com/blackstar/blackstar.html they have pics of several different versions of each toy. it's really nicely done. once i have the rest of my pages complete i may contact them to beg for assistance. it's either that or i have to start collecting. :S

A Blackstar encyclopedia/dictionary already exists: www.geocities.com/Area51/Meteor/3874/dictionary1.htmlIt may not be as ambitious as what you're planning, but it's still there. I'd be curious to know exactly where and when it was established that Eternia and Sagar are the same place. I've never seen any reliable information that this was so.
