In the Netherlands there was a Blackstar song and video clip in 1985. By the artist (nobody even knows him here in Holland) Georgie Davis (man, that sounds Dutch There is an add in a dutch Eppo magazine of the combined figure lines of Blackstar and the Infaceables. In the add they talk about the hit song "Blackstar" by Georgie Davis. The song actually is a real life Blackstar toy commercial and the creatures in the add (Grey bearded man and Chicken man aka palace Guard) can be seen in this video clip! Enjoy! www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogYyFUqVTvw

Thanks for posting this clip, that's quite a find! We have had some discussed on here before about Blackstar in the Netherlands and it's connection with the Infaceables, but having an actual Dutch Blackstar fan on the board is great to see - there's still so much about how Blackstar was presented in the Netherlands we don't know, like this music video! Crazy stuff!

This isn't the only Blackstar related song out there either - I posted this one awhile back as well (no music video though)...

Now, that's something I had not a clue it existed! Coinilius and I did some research about the dutch version of blackstar, but we hadn't any luck, except from that poster. Thanks for posting this video, it's really awesome!! It has that cheesy 80s sword and sorcery feel that I personaly love!!!

I will translate the poster in English if you like. There is another Dutch Blackstar fan in the Netherlands (20thcenturycollector) or something like that. I'll as if he has some more Dutch blackstar items or info.

We would much appreciate a translation, thank you! Coinilius tried to translate it in the thread about the infaceables, and he pretty much did it, but still there are some things that need to be cleared! Yeah, we are familiar with 20th century toy collector, we have posted links to his blog in several threads. I've personally talked to him and he told me that he's working on an article about the blackstar toyline release in the Netherlands. We are looking forward to reading it! The guy's a great collector and his reviews about the toyline are fantastic!!!

Yes, Blackstar76 and I have both spoken to 20th Century Toy Collector about Blackstar before - but he's a busy man (as are we all, no doubt!) and hasn't had time to complete his article on Blackstar in the Netherlands - we would love to hear any stories you can share with us!

As promised, the translated Dutch Blackstar add! Otto Simon (the toy wholesaler in the netherlands) who distributed the poster in 1985 is still located at the same adress. Maybe I should mail a coupon to get a poster

When you said you'd translate it, I thought you would write down a simple text... But then I forgot you're a graphic designer... This is AWESOME man, thanks for your effort!!! I want a poster too!! Since you're a graphic designer check out the "playing around with the el greco scans" thread in the chronicles of Sagar section! Coinilius was trying to add some colour on the black&white pages of the greek comic!

Thank's and no problem to translate it and turn the Dutch add into an International add. I'm intrigued by the Greek Blackstar/Atlas and also made a beginning with coloring a page from the translated Greek comic. I finished it just yet and I'll post the page in the "playing around with the el greco scans" thread.

I'm shocked !!!! I didn't even suspect Blackstar had so much resonance throughout the world back in his heydays... it's astonishing. Maybe we should track back Georgie Davis and ask some questions, that would be cool. Isn't it?

That would be an interesting idea - would be fascinating to see what his memories of the time and performing a Blackstar themed song would be!
