Great pic of the Overlord, Dan! Love seeing your work - and hey, how about a Warlock pic to go in the encyclodeia as well? As for someone to write it, well, I'm sure something could be put together for it if it ment more Blackstar pictures from you

It's a long time that danbrenus posted that artwork here but are days now i see the pictures of this thread and his page on deviantart.I think that he is inspired from legendary illustrators as George Perez and Dan Jurgens.Personally my faves.

Dan does some very nice artwork - he also takes a lot of inspiration from the works of Alfredo Alcala

Alfredo Alcala is a legend. What we have here a Savage Sword of Conan fanboy?I'm sure you read that comic. How would be different...Robert E.Howard with Conan show as the way in many many things.
As for Dan i admire his artwork the latest Booster Gold series in DC was excellent.I have a lot of issues and i'm trying to collect them all.

Alcala, Texeira and Bruce Timm, these three shaped my comic perception. And, by the way, meet this guy too: powerandhonor.org/ A forgotten legend Of course I grew up with Roy Thomas's stories of conan, whom I love, and Pat Mill's/Glenn Fabry's/Simon Bisley's Slaine. Slaine is my all time favourite. Anyone seen the new Mill's/Langley's work on Slaine? Exceptional!! I never commented on Dabrenus's work before and it is time I did so. OUTSTANDING!!! The spirit of blackstar lives on through this artwork!!!

Slaine is an epic classic. My favourite story is ''The Horned God'' by Pat Mills and Simon Bisley.
Massimo Belardinelli (R.I.P.) was an excellend artist the most suitable for a Sagar Saga for me.
Also Arawn is a new french comic i have discovered with backround from celtic mythology.

Yes, Bellardineli is a legend! My favourite Slaine is Time Killer!!! An all time classic sword and sorcery comic!
I don't know Arawn though... Is it close to Slaine?

Not so much but it has that celtic vibe you can find in Slaine.
Also is bleak and violent without the sarcasm Slaine has (you will not find character like Ukko there).
Heavy Metal published the first two volumes of the story from french.I suggest this one for sure.

Don't worry, I've never read Hulk or Captain America. In fact, I hate Captain America. I'm not much of a marvel fiction fan. But I have to admit I always liked the story of Rom the space knight. I'm mostly a sword and sorcery comic fan! I always liked Kull, Conan, Hawks of Outremer and stuff like that...
Slaine is a very intresting comic that deals with celtic mythology, which I always found it fascinating, and its very similar to ours. You have to know that the Greeks and Irish (and Scots by the way) have a lot in common as nations and as races.

Have you ever read Killraven? I always thought it was an interesting comic, though a bit uneven - and it's not really Marvel universe either, though there is some cross over...
