You know, back in the days, Galoop produced this series about a bunch of guys who could turn into fierce beasts. The basic body parts assortment were based on those of the Blackstar figures, so the proportion matches, and the figures could fit perfectly along our heroes, providing more characters, it seems a good solution since the Blackstar series lacks of heroic warriors. Sadly, is very difficult to find 'em with their faces on, as the rubber face mask is very thin and I haven't found any of them in decent condition. So, what do you think?

Infaceables and Blackstar were sold together as one toyline in some European countries, and the vehicles at least were originally designed for the Blackstar line. So there are plenty of connections between the two, and incorporating the Infaceables into your Blackstar figures would be a pretty neat way of expanding the lineup

In greece used Infaceables had a connection with Blackstar that's a fact.I remember Blackstar's toyline named ''Oé Êõñéáñ÷ïé ôïõ Óõìðáíôïò'' translated as motu!!!And Infaceables had that title with the tagline ''Óåëçíáíèñùðïé'' translated as ''Moonmen''.Yes i know it sounds a bit crazy!!

I'd love to know more about the Greek Blackstar/Masters of the Universe - I know there were mini-comics produced for it, would love to know more about what sort of story it might have had.

I'd love to know more about the Greek Blackstar/Masters of the Universe - I know there were mini-comics produced for it, would love to know more about what sort of story it might have had. Well, here's the thing: There's this greek toy company named el greco. The company wants to take advantage of the commercial success that motu had in other countries. At the time (I mean 1984) we had no motu action figures in Greece. So, they take the second wave of blackstar figures (laser light), dye blackstar's hair blonde and change his name: So, now the greek blackstar is blond and is called ATLAS (after a powerful titan of the ancient greek mythology). Second in command is klone, who's called LEON (means lion in Greek. The name has to do with his tranformation into the cloud cat, the company assumed it was a lion, which is pretty close). Atlas's other two companions are neptul and... overlord (yep, you read right), who maintained their original names. Alas, we had no Mara action figure... Packaged with the good guys are 4 trobbits, balkar, gossamer, riff and carpo. El Greco dyes them silver and calls them silvermen, magical creatures that help Atlas in his fight against... Cadray!!!

Part two.
Kadray (Sorry about the c) is now called Scorpio and he's the chief villain. His minions are Tongo, Gargo and... Zoar!!! Well, Zoar is the palace guard (his name indicates the influence of motu) while the other two maintain their original names. They're helped by the demons (4 demons, one for every bad guy) who are called... demons and they came from a poisonous sea in a planet called sectaurus (they keep messing the lines). Now, the bad guys try to snatch a big diamond which gives the ultimate power to master the universe. The diamond is kept inside the ice castle, which is called the castle of power, and guess who's its ptotector; Atlas and his companions. And they live in the castle!!! So, for the masters of the universe (the name of the greek line, who has a sword and a diamond in it's logo), it's a continuing struggle to protect the diamond of the ultimate power against the bad guys.

Part three
There was ONLY ONE comic produced, which tells the above story. The comic was packaged with the spaceships and the creatures. White spaceship for Atlas called the space diamond. Black spaceship for scorpio called the black spider. They also had their flying cretures. Warlock was called "dragon" and triton was called kerveros (after a greek ancient mythical monster). Story of the comic: Scorpio manages to escape from the exile that was banished along time ago by atlas and his friends. Tries to catch off guard the defenders of the castle of power, which is guarded by overlord and the silvermen, since atlas and the other two (neptul and leon) are away on a mission. Scorpio succeeds. He captures overlord and the silvermen and takes overlord's starsword (yes, overlord has the starsword!!!) You see, the starsword and the powersword (which atlas has), when united, form the key to open the crypt in which the diamond of power is hidden, inside the castle of power. when Atlas and co return they're taken by surprise by scorpio, who captures them too. He takes the powersword and gts his hands on the diamond.

Part four
Now scorpio settles in the castle of power and proclaims himself master of the universe. Our friends are held in the dungeons of the castle, imprisoned inside mystical crystal spheres, which scorpio has created with his bazooka gun!!! Atlas asks from the silvermen to concentrate, thus using their weakened, by the imprisonment, powers to break the crystal sphere in which he's imprisoned. The silvermen succeed and atlas escapes in his space diamond (the white spaceship). Meanwhile, in the control room of the castle tongo claims the diamond for himself. Scorpio gets mad and commands his other two minions, who are still loyal to him, to have tongo imprisoned two. Consumed by the fight, the villains notice nothing of atlas's escape. After his fight with Tongo, Scorpio commands his minions to bring atlas before him. But Atlas is already approaching the ancient city called Kamira, where lies the temple of wisdom. Inside this temple an ancient scroll is hidden. This scroll contains a curse, which, when used against anyone who uses the diamond for evil, can send him to another dimension (some short of mystic imprisonment). Scorpio goes after Atlas in his black spider (the black spaceship). They're engaged in a sky duel and Atlas wins. Scorpio crash lands in the swamp of reptiles. Atlas gets back in the castle frees his friends and all together search fro the diamond. The diamond is in Tongo's hands, who was freed by his loyal demons and is in charge of the group of villains. But atlas says the magic words (the curse) and sends the villains in another dimension. Meanwhile scorpio is saved by his loyal beast kerveros (the triton bull) who came for him in the deadly swamp. He's leaving the swamp swearing that he will take his revenge on Atlas. The story ends with a big celebration by the good guys in the castle of power. From now on they will be very carefull because they know that scorpio will come back for his revenge...

That's about it. No infeacables were used in the story. They came in Greece a year later. Pretty lame figure line, never liked it. Atlas was my first action figure ever!! He-man was a latecomer in our greek toy world, motu came to Greece in 1986. But we surely loved it too. If there's anything else you want to know about the greek line let me know!!

Wow, thanks for taking the time to write all that up for the Greek Masters of the Universe line! That is one crazy mixed up toy line!
And thanks for confirming that there is only the one comic - I know it only has the most tangental relationship with Blackstar but as an 'alternate' take on the franchise, I find it quite interesting! Now to start hunting down a copy...

Now to start hunting down a copy... Any time dude. You might also wanna check out this one www.backintoys.com/t32-blackstar-galoob-1983?highlight=blackstar. Tons of information about the greek blackstar... Now, about that greek comic. I happen to own a copy from my childhood. I have to find some time and do some scans for the forum. I can also translate it. I had no idea that someone would find it interesting. I remember that I was pretty confused because I had already watched the cartoon and our toy company's approach seemed weird... But, now that you say so, why the hell not be interesting?

You also see in the second picture, which is the rear of the figure packaging, that blackstar has his normal hair!!! Imagine the confusion, when I got the blond figure!!! I tell you man, I just don't know what they were thinking...

Haha yeah I did see that picture, with Blackstar's normal black hair! Guess they missed that in post-production Thanks for that link - I love finding out about the (at least in English sources) more obscure extra Blackstar-related items. If you could do scans when you have the time, that would be great - if you do, make sure you post them over at the Planet_Sagar Yahoo Group as well - we had scans of the French comics here on the board, but they were taken down in case they were in violation of Proboards rules about posting scanned material, so Whitedwarf didn't want to risk taking any chances. groups.yahoo.com/group/Planet_Sagar/ It really is a strange alternate to the Blackstar we know - when MotU did make it to Greece, did they actually tie-in to this toyline or did they just sort of forget about this and just went with the real MotU stuff?

Yea, that link is in french, I thought you could make sense since you translated the french comics... I know some french myself, so I could read this stuff. It seems that the french have quite an interest in blackstar!!! They're great collectors too!!! I think Greece has a strong blackstar community here too, but the thing is that we don't know each other, ha,ha... I'm not registerd in the yahoo group yet, I guess I'll have to do it. I had dig the french blackstar pif gadget comics from a romanian forum, man they're obsessed with this stuff and the got some pretty desent scans too!!! Anyway, yea, the kids just forgot about this toyline (not me though), you know the impact that motu had everywhere... The greek toyline wouldn't stand a chance... I don't know if the greek company even had a licence to do that... The invasion of the multinational toy companies in the Greek market, marked the end of el greco, I heard it was sold to hasbro, I can't confirm this though... Of course none of us can say that he didn't love motu. Myself, I always loved to mix blackstar with he-man when I played. But not the infaceables, I always thought they had nothing to do with the magical world of blackstar. El greco tried to sold them as a part of the blackstar line, but with little success. The thing is I have a vast collection of (vintage) motu, but none of my blackstar stuff survived, except the white ship intact in its box with the comic. I have to start collecting them again... sometime...
