So it wasn't indestructible huh? The cool fact is that it's power is to big and if it is released then armaggedon baby! To carry that sword means alot of responability.

Um, okay. The Vampire Men attacked, and a blast from one of them hit the Starsword. It got this strange purple glow like an infection, and the only cure was the song of the air whale Warhoun.
According to the script, Warhoun wasn't supposed to look like a whale, BTW, but more like a jellyfish. The animators ignored Reaves/Zicree's instructions.

Yeah, it was going to go nuklear in 'Air Whales' - that seemed to be to do with an out of control build up of it's own energies, caused by the Vampire Men's attack, IMO. According to the script, Warhoun wasn't supposed to look like a whale, BTW, but more like a jellyfish. The animators ignored Reaves/Zicree's instructions. Wow, thanks for that bit of information - that could have been very interesting to see, had they actually gone with the original instructions

The weapon was corrupted, not damaged. Keep in mind both the halves of the Powerstar can assimilate outer forms of energy. Maybe the Vampire blast infused "vicious" energy into the Starsword: a sort of infection. That's why it reached the "boiling point" and went bersek. Thanks for the fascinating tidbit!

I just resumed this thread. My theory: (Queen) Marlena comes from Blackstar's "future", which in turn is our future (a future Earth). Eternia is supposed to be placed in the same universe where Earth is also located. Sagar belongs to an alternate universe where the time flux must be similar to our universe (as established in 'Spacewrecked'). Eternia's civilization is ahead of time in comparison with Sagar. Maybe Zodiak travelled across the universes, and knew about Blackstar, retrieving the statue in the process.

Well, if you look at the strict timing of it, Prince Adam is what, about 18 at the beginning of the MotU series? That means Marlena has been on Eternia for about 20 years then. (Give her some time to fall in love with Randor, and become pregnant.) She was probably in her 20s when she arrived on Eternia. That means she was probably around 40 at the beginning of the series. If the 1st episode of MotU takes place a few month after the last episode of Blackstar... John was on Sagar for roughly a year before the first episode of the Blackstar series takes place. (I think they celebrate his anniversary as a member of their resistance movement in "Search for the Starsword" or something don't they?) If he's in his 20s and went through the same astronaut academy as Marlena, he might have heard of her or seen something about her going missing and/or becoming queen of Eternia.

Well, in Search for the Starsword they're just kind of celebrating him for no particular reason... SftS was designed to be the first episode to air, so that scene and the scene of Overlord explaining the Powersword/Starsword connection exist for info-dump purposes But in Lightning City of the Clouds Blackstar has obviously been there for at least one other season-handover ceremony since he has met Lurlana before and knows what is supposed to happen.

LOL! Oh man, that was good... Let's get serious now. The connection of the two cartoons was somewhat a fan's theory. I don't think the creators wanted to connect the universes. I think statues and stuff shown in motu were an inside joke and nothing else. Myself, I never really cared too much about connecting these cartoons. Your theory of pre-sagar works well for a connection though. But I wouldn't waste time exploring the connection... Anyway, I don't know if you've seen this discussion... www.he-man.org/forums/boards/showthread.php?195336-The-unofficial-cartoon-guide-to-He-Man-and-the-Masters-of-the-Universe!-%29&p=2598053&viewfull=1#post2598053 See page 10! I've seen it before and I thought I should post it here. Interesting! Also, have you seen Robert Lamb's comments about the search for the starsword episode? Ha, ha, that was a good one too...

Yes, I wouldn't be too worried either - they could certainly both be happening in a 'shared universe' (or 'universes' since Sagar is in an 'ancient, alien' one) but on different planets, at different times... it's a big universe after all lol
