being both a fan of he-man and blackstar i was pleasently surprised when i saw the blackstar statue in the treasure room in a motu episode. that gave me the simplist thought process of how that got there??? whats the simplist answer? perhaps sagar is a planet in the same universe or a near one to eternia. with all the villians and universe exploration from eternia its easy to say that it was stolen from sagar as some point by treasure hunters. but the link doesnt end there theres also the clear point of queen marlena being a u.s. astronaut piloting the rainbow warrior a ship very like is not the same to blackstars ship who also is a u.s astronaut. now wouldnt be easy to say they were both failed attempts to travel at lightspeed. both falling victim to space. perhaps they knew eachother. perhaps there missions were linked. but anyway you look at it its a nice way to link to great shows together for what could have been the best crossover ever!!!!

The Blackstar/He-Man fanon connection
Blackstar's story can be seen as somewhat of an inspiration for the background that the authors gave to Queen Marlena from He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. Queen of Eternia and mother of Adam and Adora, she was formerly known as Marlena Glenn, an astronaut coming from a future version of Earth who crash-landeded on the alien planet that, one day, she would have ruled together with her husband, King Randor. This is often matter of fan conjectures and attempts to tie-in the two un-related series.
In the episode of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe titled 'Temple of the Sun', a small golden reproduction of Blackstar and his Starsword is stored in the temple. Filmation animators have indicated that the inclusion of the Blackstar statue was simply an in-joke on their part, and not meant to portray any continuity between the two shows. You can see the statue potraying Blackstar here. Anyway, the statue is often picked-up by fans as "proof" tha Blackstar is placed in the past of He-Man's timeline, and that he spent the rest of his life on Sagar, achieving legendary status.
As revealed in the MOTU episode 'The Remedy', on Eternia there's a flying creature very much similar to Warlock, Blackstar's dragon-bat: the Tactril. The main difference is the coloured skin (Warlock being dark green, tha Tactril light purple). This is simply because Filmation produced both cartoons and was famous for recycling animation from previous shows. ------------------------------------------------------------>

As both a He-Man fan and a Blackstar fan, I think it's very hard not to see a possible connection between Marlena and Blackstar, given the similarities of there backstories.
A Blackstar guest appearance on He-Man would have been great to see, and they could have used it to tie-up some Blackstar loose ends or something... imagine the Powersword vs the Power Sword ;D

Power Sword + Sword of the Ancients + Star Sword... just imagine how powerful that sort of amalgamation would become! Although I suppose the Power Sword didn't really seem to get any more powerful when it merged with the Sword of the Ancients

We just have to assume that the Power Sword is twice as powerful than it used to be. ;D

imagine the Powersword vs the Power Sword ;D HA-HA! That would be a real threat! The similarity of the names, I never previously noticed that. (even if I think the correct name is "Sword of Power"). What if we merge all the mentioned swords + the SWORD OF THE OMENS (!!!) into one single sword to dominate the multi-universe (and the MATTEL company itself)? However, the SWORD OF THE OMENS is a toy in comparison with either the Powerstar (and its two halves) and the Sword of the Power. What is the Sword of the Ancients?

Oh man I love this forum !! ;D Regarding the sword of Omens I totally agree, many consider it an awesome and perfect weapon but I it is far from being that. The Sword of Omens lost a fight agains Excalibur very easily now imagine what the Star sword or the Power Sword could do the that trinket. Now about the Sword of the Ancients, it was a legendery sword with great power that was hidden inside Snake Mountain for ages. It was waiting to merge with another sword of great power according to the legend. The sword even had a voice and in the episode of He-Man " Masks of Power" both swords become one at the end and made the Power Sword an even more powerful weapon or at least that's what they tell us in the episode.

Mike,
It reminds me to the original MOTU mini-comics or even the 1982 toyline... when both He-Man and Skeletor were provided with two identical halves. The good ol' times.
The SWORD OF OMENS is basically a 'CAT-SIGNAL' (not for Selina Kyle, even). Probably it is fashioned with some alien metallic league making it stronger and adamant, but it doesn't seem to me that the blade is much powered in terms of energy.
I have to rewatch that episode, anyway. The POWERSTAR is still the most lethal weapon of the multi-universe, but I'm curious about the Sword of the Ancients... just to speculate.

Yeah that's true but that sword isn't even too strong it has been broken many times by really dumb situations. I don't remember if the Starsword was indestructable but I am pretty sure that is is far superior than the Sword of Omens. ;D

The Starsword and the Powersword don't even look as being "swords" in the common sense of the word... it's not METAL! Remember, it's an alternative universe (while Eternia and Thunderia are supposed to be firmly placed in ours - Third Earth is a future version of Earth itself). Their league look like an "enhanced" crystal of some sort... They can't be destroyed!

The Starsword did come pretty close to being destroyed in "The Air Whales of Anchar," so it isn't indestructible. In that episode, it was basically a thermonuclear bomb just waiting to go off--which, for some reason, Blackstar kept forgetting. He seems to rely on that sword a little more than he should.

Great observation! Indeed, it's true. After all, Blackstar is just human.Tell me more... was it really to being destroyed? (By the way, welcome to the board!)
