Uhm...... how do you recognize the Starsword and the Powersword if they are identical to each other? I'm wondering...

If i understand the meaning of this thread is very simple:Overlord grabs Powersword and John grabs Starsword....I can't find something else except the fact that is a sword broken in two pieces.

Well, maybe they're connected to them by some ancient magical power. I mean, each sword knows who its owner is (if owner is the right word) and the same goes for the owner (or beholder). So, subconciously, both of them grab their respective swords.

It probably doesn't matter lol they just call which ever one they pick up by the name they usually use That said, it might have been interesting to see Blackstar and Overlord actually swap swords for a story - maybe there is a (cliche) one sword is evil/one sword is good thing that starts influecing Blackstar and Overlord.

I think the connection from ancient magical power is a good reason...
Also each sword has a familiarity with his owner a good or evil after a lot of time as a possession.
What do you think?

Something like that could work - I could very much see a Filmation-style episode out of the idea of Blackstar going evil/Overlord going good

Yes, a great idea that could make a great and intresting story if used properly. But I'm afraid filmation spend all its great ideas on motu...

Well, I'm sure they could have come up with some more good Blackstar ones if they had been given the chance I have dabbled with Blackstar fan-fiction a couple of times but never finished anything/got anything to work. For some interesting Blackstar fan fiction, check out Zimraphel's 'The Night Serpent' in the Chronicles of Sagar section (plus it's a cross over with MotU as well) if you haven't already

I was wondering we could ask some questions to Robert Lamb... I remember I asked him about some MOTU stuff years ago and he was very kind and polite with me. Since he worked in Blackstar show, is it possible he open his memories to us and fill a lot of blanks... Some questions like: 1- what Filmation planned for second season ? 2- how Blackstar got his sword ? 3- who gave the swords for Blackstar and Overlord ? 4- why Powerstar was split ? 5- did they planned to produce a cross over between MOTU and Blackstar ? His website is this: www.robertartwriter.com/Home.htmlHere we can read more about Filmation shows, including Blackstar.

Nice - thanks for posting that link, Monteeg - I remember finding that site awhile ago and saving the production art images and the gags. There's some interesting 'pre-production' stuff in those images - the more horse like Warlock and the Trobbit bird-glider thing.

Did you see the blackstar humour artwork? Hilarious!!! I discovered Robert Lamb's site through James Eatock's motu blog. Eatock thinks highly of Robert Lamb and he seems like a cool guy. We should give it a try... Oh and I've checked Zimraphel's stories. Very cool... I see you got some talent there too!!

The humour artwork is great! Would love to see some more (reading his coments it sounds like there might be some 'not safe for work' ones as well )

Both James Eatock and Robert Lamb are nice people.
I talked to Mr. Lamb only one time. I asked him about the artists behind the MOTU newspaper strips. He was very kind and polite.
On the other hand, since I bought the first edition of MOTU cartoon guide, I've been talking to James Eatock about He-Man and Blackstar worlds. I am pretty sure he has original Blackstar's storyboards, animation cels and a lot of Filmation stuff (like episodes screenplays, etc).
