Burble froze up in Lightning City in the Clouds and they sort of connected that to water (I think they said it was 'like the pond' or something)...

Well I love the trobbits! If you consider them as a comic relief which I don't, they sure are better than Orko!!
Magical elf-like dwarves! What more could a kid possibly want? I remember I was always bored with Orko but not with the trobbits, who were part of the action!
Myself, I always thought of Burble as a wise guy, a mild force, who could be a possible successor to Balkar...

Storm the Amazon Queen also commented that Burble swam better than he flew in "The Lord of Time". I think he was originally supposed to fall into water in the script but we see him fall into a tree which he slides down to save himself in the episode itself. The comment is oddly out of place in that context so she must know he's a great swimmer from a past encounter.

Blackstar76 - I have always thought of Burble as being a possible successor to Balkar as well! I think it comes from the episode where Balkar was showing him how to levitate the piece of fruit...
And nice catch with Storm's line in The Lord of Time, Metaldragon!

Indeed! I had never noticed Storm's line in this episode before...

When going through the french comics, I really liked the idea which was presented in a couple of the Pif Gadget stories, that there was a whole community of Trobbits and not just the 7 regulars from the cartoon - I think a lot could have been done with this concept!

Yeah, I liked the idea too. So, if we connect the comics to the cartoon, it seems those seven trobbits were the chosen ones, acting as custodians of the sacred sagar tree. That gives them importance enough to be an essential part of the blackstar universe. It's what Whitedwarf said in a previous post, you can't be a fun if you don't like the trobbits! It's like being a LOTR fun and not liking the hobbits!

An apt description, since they are essentially 'Tree-Hobbits' Indeed about them being chosen ones acting as custodians for the Sagar Tree - as I said before, I like to think that the other Trobbits are still in the safety of the Blue Cave following the Crystal Forest Pif Gadget story

Coming back to our Burble discussion, he didn't show his water powers in the comics either... Though he is described as a "water specialist" in the edition lugs comic...

And he keeps mentioning that he would use water to help out, like giving water to use in Rif's medicines, but he doesn't really do anything specific lol

Until the Edition Lugs comic I never really even considered Burble being water related, except for all the referencess to it in that

I'm thinking about what metaldragon said previously, about storm's comment being out of place... Maybe there was a deleted scene showing Burble doing something with water (like swift swimming) It happened in the motu cartoon several times (Coinilius, it's mentioned in the unofficial guide to motu, check it out), so the characters said something out of place that initially would make sense if the deleted scene remained. Maybe there are deleted scenes about Burble using his water powers? I could use an unofficial guide to blackstar right now!

Yes, I can easily imagine such a deleted scene taking place - or perhaps not a deleted scene so much as a change made in the animation which wasn't then fixed in the dialogue...

In "The Crown of the Sorceress" Burble is the one to dive into the river and rescue the gem.

So that's it... Was it then a deleted scene or a change of animation? Is it mentioned in the dvd's comments? Thanks for that great piece of information metaldragon!
